PGA Tour: West Coast Winners

As the west coast swing of the 2012 PGA Tour season comes to a close, we should probably talk about the winners (and losers) in golf fashion thus far. There have been some guys out there who have really caught our eye because of their great style as well as their top-notch golf games. Here are some of the most notable  players currently in our Winner's Circle.

KYLE STANLEY
There are hardly words to express the love we feel for how Mr. Stanley dresses. All men should take note (mostly Tiger, but we will get to him later) of how to wear a pair of pants. Kyle looked crazy good in his all-black outfit by Dunning on Sunday at Phoenix, very Gary Player-esque. We give him a thumbs up for his great play, great outfit and that killer beard. Nicely done, sir.

KEEGAN BRADLEY

We were beyond thrilled when Keegan announced his new partnership with classic American clothier Tommy Hilfiger. And they have not disappointed us. We don't have a favorite look in mind from him this season, just his change overall. Bradley is now in much more fitted shirts, he is switching up his pant colors, belts and visors too. This change isn't too drastic but it is just enough to be noticeable and we really like it.

ADAM SCOTT
How on earth do you think we could have any sort of "Best Dressed" list and not include our favorite player ever? You are right, it is impossible. With that said, Adam's continued partnership with Aquascutum is glorious. Even more so than last season because of their increased use of elbow patches in his layering pieces. And he looks incredible every damn time he steps on a golf course.

ZACH JOHNSON
Outfitted in our newest favorite, Iliac Golf, Zach continues to bring it. We are especially digging his look from Saturday at Riviera, a nice striped sweater vest, with an unusually tight crew neck collar which makes him look that much more put together.

JONATHAN BYRD
A relative newcomer on our fashion radar, J Byrd is a seriously classy gent. Everyone knows my love for cardigan sweaters and thus my love for people who wear them. Not only did he wear a cardigan yesterday at Riviera but he paired this navy blue Ralph Lauren sweater with a great green gingham shirt. I do have one problem with the whole situation though, the clothes could have been about a size smaller. Other than that, he looked great.

JIMMY WALKER
Another newcomer on the scene is this guy. Not a very big name, but he was on the first page of the leaderboard this week at one point. Wearing expertly coordinated Peter Millar, he caught our eye yesterday and we hope he continues to dress (and play) well this season.

And for the disappointments. I would like to think they know who they are, but for the sake of this blog post, let us review.

LUKE DONALD
His first outing this season was nothing to write home about. The world's number one player didn't play or dress like a champ this week. I have a serious problem with the collar on this shirt as well as plackets with zippers. I know that is getting a little nit-picky but I expected a little more out of someone who is normally dressed impeccably. The face snarl says it all, Luke.

PHIL MICKELSON
I know, Phil has been playing AWESOME and I am so pumped he won at Pebble and he is currently in the playoff at Riviera but whoever tells him he looks great in pinstripe pants ought to be shot. Sorry, Phil, thats a fail. (I know the picture isn't from this season, I couldn't find a recent one to illustrate the disaster but he has done it this year already, trust me.)

TIGER WOODS
He unfortunately will continue to be a train wreck unless he decides to reconcile with his tailor and someone at Nike notifies him that those golf shoes are made in black. We agree, Tiger, that outfit is cringe-worthy.

And that should about do it for this post. I need to get off here and watch this exciting playoff at Riviera! Also, I promise, we will try and be more diligent about writing posts, we know how much you need your G&B fix.

Thanks for reading!

GIFT GUIDE FOR GUYS.

so we're almost down to the single digits til the holidays are in full swing...
I dont know about you, but I certainly haven't finished my christmas shopping, let alone saved enough to buy everything for everyone... So it looks like I'll be gifting smart this year!
I was in a couple creative conversations with some gentleman that are stuck on what to get their "ladies"
The funny thing is that they didn't have a problem figuring out what to give, it was more a problem of giving the right gift from their ever so demanding wish list. Ladies, piece of advice, be grateful for whatever your man gets you. Seriously.
Are you really going to complain if your man went through all this trouble of actually getting you the michael kors camo bag and it's not the one you wanted... (sorry that was a gift my coworkers girlfriend wanted and it came to mind)
(im genuinely concerned because the girl wanted a camo bag... that's very destiny's child of you...)
 can't you atleast be grateful?
What about all those who don't have a man to share the holidays with... Just think about it.

Alright, rant done, on to the good stuff.
How to gift smart.
Ladies its our turn to give back.

A special thanks to those designers who created apparel and accessories for the modern man. Majority of these items are ageless (minus the UrbanOutfitters pieces...) Plenty of thought goes into designing pieces that are flexible and easily integrated into the customers wardrobe while creating something new and fresh! I'm excited for the new year and the new designs. Also, thanks for trendygolfer for making shopping easier for the individual who is interested in fashionable golf apparel instead of weeding through the pitiful designs that don't flatter everyone. Please enjoy this help, and let it inspire you to shop for that someone special and give them a gift that really matters!

You are gonna wanna read this

As faithful readers would notice, we hinted in a post last week that we would profile a certain President's Cup participant prior to the opening matches. And anyone who knows us can probably guess who it is that we were going to dedicate an entire post to; that player is Mr. Adam Scott.

Despite recent news we discovered yesterday, (Adam brought his old flame, Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic as his date to the President's Cup gala...) we still love him.

Adam has had a breakout year, or rather he has been the "comeback" player of the year to some but we have always known the game was there. We are firm believers in the "look good, play good" mentality and he sure does that well. He made 14 of 18 cuts, finished in the top 25 in 10 of those cuts made and won once at the WGC-Bridgestone in Akron, Ohio and came oh-so-close to his first major at Augusta earlier in the year.

In 2009, Adam ditched his Burberry duds for the iconic British clothier Aquascutum. And we think it was an excellent change, because not only does he rep their clothes on the course, he also has a hand in designing them. He loves the brand so much that he even invested in the company when they signed him. Who does that? Answer: Adam Scott. He is just that great.

And if you that bonehead who is still thinking to yourself "I am just not sure about this Adam Scott character..."he plays Titleist clubs including a Scotty Cameron putter, he is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, was born in Australia (which means his accent is pretty much awesome) and has a house in Switzerland. Need we say more? Get with the program and jump on the Adam Scott Bandwagon. Nevermind all this silliness about Tiger vs. Steve Williams either. Adam snagged a top-notch caddy when Tiger ditched him and has risen above any and all controversy surrounding him. We wish Adam and the rest of the Internationals good luck this week in the President's Cup! We will be rooting for you!

We will now leave you with your thoughts and this final picture of his hotness, complete with elbow patches. Happy Hump Day!
