Let's get cliche for a moment. This is an epic struggle. Every damn morning we get up and make coffee and brainstorm about what to blog. We sort of underestimated how easy it was going to be to write about stuff we love. Because we love so much stuff, food, clothes, men, golf, Hall & Oates, Florida and the list goes on to infinity. And yet we are struggling to write meaningful and thought provoking posts. It has been a week. Seriously? This isn't good. So maybe we will also throw in some posts about our journey down here in the Sunshine State. Have you ever seen the show "Two Broke Girls" on Fox? Well, minus the Big Apple, thats us. Sort of. We don't waitress in a diner and neither of our dads are in prison for a busted Ponzi scheme but we relate to the show on a different level. (ironic that one is a blonde and one is a brunette?)
We walked a mile to go to a bar last night. This was our first time venturing out into the Orlando nightlife. Can you see the dedication? We were so amped to go drinking that we walked a mile to and from the bar last night. And once we got to the bar, we were sadly disappointed. But stayed anyway to enjoy some sweet potato fries, cider on tap and Guinness. It was ok for people watching, but not so much for meeting people our age. We will have to find another location for that. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville perchaps? But we enjoyed ourselves anyway because it was a new experience. Then we walked back to the apartment, rocking out to MJ's PYT and our beloved Hall&Oates. Can you picture us at 1am walking down Universal Blvd belting out "You're a rich bitch girl"? It was awesome. Did I mention we walked a mile up hill both ways? Yeah.
That was super exciting for us because usually our evenings consist primarily of Law & Order: SVU and a home-cooked meal. Bison chili for 3 nights straight? Done. Recipe post will come later. And though we love sharing our nights with Detectives Benson and Stabler, they don't really reciprocate the love in terms of human interaction. No matter how many times we yell at the TV as to who raped and murdered who, they just don't listen. And on the sad days that NCIS is on all day instead of L&O, we have had to find some healthy alternatives, namely Family Guy and Sex & The City reruns.
And thus we circle back to why we are blogging. Aside from someone practicing their golf game and another person shagging balls on the course, we have some time to kill. And we know how much people care about our opinions on things so blogging about it was a great fit.
So the moral of the story is: don't eat yellow snow. You picked up on that, right?
Thank god the mile walk up hill both ways wasn't into the wind both ways too!
